Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, held a meeting to review the status of lands and development works in the North West Coast, Invest-Gate reports.
The meeting was attended by Eng. Sherif El Sherbini, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities; Major General Khaled Shoeib, Governor of Matrouh; Major General Nasser Fawzy, Head of the National Center for Planning State Land Uses; Dr. Maha Fahim, Head of the General Organization for Physical Planning; Eng. Ahmed Moussa, Vice President of the New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA) for Planning and Projects; and several other officials.
Madbouly emphasized that this meeting is part of ongoing efforts to advance development in the North West Coast region, maximizing returns in light of the promising advantages and opportunities it offers, which provide broad horizons for attracting investments and creating diverse economic activities throughout the year.
Counselor Mohamed Elhomosany, the official spokesperson of the Cabinet, reported that the meeting reviewed the status of lands in the promising development sectors along the northwest coast and Siwa, extending to the borders with Salloum city.
The discussions included development proposals for various state-owned areas, highlighting the advantages of each sector, particularly the distinctive beachfront and unique natural landmarks.
Additionally, they considered supporting components for implementing significant economic projects, including tourist facilities, development clusters, and attractive environmental areas. Key projects enhancing the value of this region were discussed, notably road networks, railways, high-speed train tracks, and airports.
Furthermore, Elhomosany pointed out that the meeting emphasized the need to focus on the hotel component in the targeted development sectors, given the significant influx of visitors to the North Coast recently and the increase in incoming tourists. This supports the state’s direction to expand the capacity of hotel rooms along the North West Coast.
He also stressed the importance of various entities committing to implementing these hotels according to established timelines and standards suitable for the region.
