Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly held a meeting to review the strategic plans and current status of New Suez and New Sphinx cities, Invest-Gate reports.
Attendees included Eng. Sherif El Sherbini, Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities; Major General Tarek El-Shazly, Governor of Suez; Dr. Abdallah Ramadan, Deputy Governor of Suez; Dr. Mostafa Mounir, CEO of the Tourism Development Authority (TDA); Dr. Walid Abbas, First Deputy Chairman of the New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA); Eng. Ahmed Moussa, Deputy Chairman of NUCA; Eng. Asmaa Makhlouf, Head of the New Suez City Authority; Eng. Ahmed Anwar, Head of the New Sphinx City Development Authority; and various consultants responsible for planning the two cities.
Madbouly emphasized that the meeting aimed to assess the plans and implementation status of these two important and promising cities, which are expected to be in high demand in the near future.
During the meeting, El Sherbini confirmed that both cities possess numerous components that qualify them to lead development in the upcoming phase. He reviewed the general strategic plan for New Suez City, highlighting its significant location.
It was noted that the population of New Suez City is projected to reach 1,250,000, covering a net area exceeding 40,000 feddans. The meeting also reviewed several targeted projects across various sectors that would contribute to achieving the strategic vision for New Suez City.
Regarding New Sphinx City, El Sherbini presented the finalized borders of the city, which spans approximately 73,000 feddans. The city is divided into five sectors, and he reviewed the current land ownership structure and the development of the city’s planning strategy.
In this context, El Sherbini explained that the strategic plan for New Sphinx City includes numerous projects across various development and service sectors, capitalizing on its prime location near the Grand Egyptian Museum and the Pyramids area, as well as Sphinx International Airport. The availability of extensive road networks and modern transportation options will facilitate the establishment of various activities and projects.
At the end of the meeting, Madbouly directed attention to the infrastructure and facility works in New Sphinx City, highlighting its unique character and recreational tourism potential, given its proximity to Sphinx Airport, the Pyramids, and the Grand Egyptian Museum.
Madbouly also instructed the update of the strategic plan for New Suez City to ensure it becomes an integrated residential city, featuring high-quality residential units for various income groups and including distinctive recreational areas, as well as developing the city’s beachfront.
