Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly witnessed the signing of a cooperation protocol between Egypt’s Arab Contractors Company and China State Construction Engineering Corporation (CSCEC), establishing a strategic alliance to implement major projects in Egypt and across the African continent, Invest-Gate reports.
The agreement was signed by Eng. Hassan Mustafa Kamel, Senior Vice Chairman of Arab Contractors, and Mr. Zheng Xuexuan, Chairman of CSCEC. The ceremony was attended by Eng. Sherif El Sherbini, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities; Mr. Dong Jianguo, China’s Vice Minister of Housing and Urban-Rural Development; Dr. Abdelkhalek Ibrahim, Assistant Minister of Housing for Technical Affairs; Eng. Hesham Sheta, Chairman of Income (CSCEC’s representative in Egypt); and Eng. Heba Aboelala, Vice Chairman of Arab Contractors.
Following the signing, Madbouly affirmed that the protocol reflects the deepening strategic ties between Egypt and China, highlighting the expanding bilateral cooperation across various sectors. He emphasized that the current momentum in Egyptian-Chinese relations provides a strong foundation for advancing joint initiatives and shared interests.
El Sherbini described the agreement as a key outcome of Egypt’s recent high-level visit to China, which included extensive meetings with Chinese officials. During the visit, the proposed collaboration between CSCEC, one of the world’s largest construction firms, and Arab Contractors, Egypt’s leading state-owned construction company, was advanced to capitalize on their shared expertise and regional reach.
El Sherbini added, “The idea was approved and welcomed by the Chairman of CSCEC, and today we witness the signing of a cooperation protocol to establish a strong joint alliance between the two companies to implement mega projects in Egypt and across the African continent, as well as to explore various business areas and frameworks for cooperation on new projects.”
It was noted that the cooperation between Arab Contractors and CSCEC, and the formation of an alliance between the two companies, represents a significant opportunity for widespread expansion across the African continent by combining their efforts and shared resources and leveraging their extensive experience in this promising sector.
