Qalyubia Awaits EGP 513 mn Water Projects

Qalyubia Governorate is witnessing the implementation of three potable water projects, with a total added capacity of 217,000 cubic meters per day, at a cost of EGP 513 mn, Invest-Gate reports.

This comes alongside the development of seven sewage stations valued at EGP 223 mn, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities Assem El Gazzar said in an official statement on September 15.

Meanwhile, El Gazzar revealed that two water projects, with a total capacity of about 103,000 cubic meters per day, along with seven wastewater treatment plants, have been executed with investments worth EGP 235 mn and EGP 234 mn, respectively.

All projects are poised to be finalized by early 2020, the minister noted in the statement.

Last May, Egypt’s Central Authority for Potable Water and Wastewater (CAPWW) revealed that 72 water and drainage projects are underway in Qalyubia, at a combined cost of EGP 5.1 bn, according to a previous statement.
