Ashghal, Qatar’s Public Works Authority is currently working on projects costing $11 billion in efforts to develop the country’s expressways, reported Trade Arabia.
Ashgal’s annual report stated that construction projects worth of $13.6 billion has been awarded until December for its Expressway project.
There are currently 11 expressway projects that are undergoing different stages of construction and 10 more are being designed.
The first contract of the project will be held between Hamad Port to Orbital Highway an costs $ 878 million, stated Gulf Construction.
There is also a road that measures 41 km long that will connect Hamad Port and Al Wakra bypass with other areas linked to the project.
There is also a road being constructed linking Mesaieed Road to the East West Corridor.
The second contract is worth of $ 1.17 billion and will link Salwa and North Relief Road which is 54 km long and includes eight two-level interchanges.
As for the third and fourth contract is worth $ 1.67 billion while the latter is worth of $ 954 million that started in 2014; while the third contract is based on works between Mesajeed and Salwa, the fourth is between Dukkan Highway and Al Khor Link Road.
