The first phase of Qatar’s healthcare mega project, the Sidra Medical and Research Center, worth $7.9 billion, will be fully operational in May, reported Arabian Business.
The center is based in Doha and is funded by the Qatar Foundation. There will be a total of 25 clinics in the opening phases of the outpatient clinic. These include dermatology, pediatric, general surgery, and obstetrics clinics.
Sidra has also announced that it launched three new additional pediatric clinics that specialise in neurosurgery, urology, and orthopaedics. The mega project will also include high-tech and medical research centers that focus on treating women and children.
The delivery dates of the full project remains unclear, as the Qatar Foundation dismissed the two joint venture partners responsible for building the project in 2014.
