Qatar’s first World Cup stadium to be ready in Q2 2017

Qatar’s Khalifa International Stadium (KIS), being prepared to host World Cup in 2022, is expected to inaugurate by the end of Q2Fy2017, The Peninsula reports.

“KIS will be the first stadium to be delivered and to be followed by Al Khor and Al Wakrah stadiums that are to be completed by end of 2018. Al Rayan and Qatar Foundation stadiums will open in 2019 while the remaining stadiums will be also ready by the end of 2020,” Assistant Secretary- General of the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy Nasser Al Khater revealed in a talk show on Qatar TV.

The Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy expect about 1.5mn visitors and spectators during Qatar 2022. The previous host countries of Fifa World-Cup received about 500,000 to 600,000 visitors.
