Red Sea Governor Amr Hanafy issued a decision on April 25 that allows all tourist cruises and boats to resume operations across the governorate as long as all preventive and precautionary measures are taken to curb the spread of coronavirus, Ahram Online reports.
“The decision includes taxi and excursion boats, while the suspension of all other activities – diving, snorkeling, kiting, windsurfing, and submarines – continue until further notice,” said the governor.
He also noted that any boat that hosts crowds or exchanges passengers will have its license revoked.
Boats have not been allowed to operate since April 12, except for fishing boats, which limited the pandemic breakout in the governorate, according to the statement.
In January, Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly has mandated the free allocation of four public lands in the Red Sea resort of Hurghada to the Social Housing and Mortgage Finance Fund (SHMFF). Plots will be utilized for the implementation of different investment and social housing projects, alongside the provision of the necessary service and administrative facilities, Madbouly emphasized back then.
