REDCON Construction celebrated its positive results and added value to the Egyptian market by implementing distinctive projects using the latest technological and sustainable techniques during a special event called REDCON Technology Day, Invest-Gate reports.
The event was attended by REDCON Construction’s partners from major real estate developers, officials, as well as REDCON’s leadership team and representatives from technology partners Autodesk and Right Angle.
During REDCON Technology Day, Eng. Tarek El-Gammal, Chairman of REDCON, reviewed the company’s journey in introducing the latest technological and sustainable innovations to the Egyptian market. REDCON is one of the first companies in the Middle East to adopt technologies that have revolutionized the construction sector and contributed to sustainability and resource preservation.
El-Gammal noted that REDCON has been using BIM technology since 2008, which has now become a mandatory standard in construction globally. This digital engineering transformation mechanism relies on presenting all drawings and designs via computers, collecting information from the early design stages until project completion, and providing a three-dimensional image of the building and its components, allowing for early problem identification and resolution.
He explained that this technology reduces the time and paper required for modifying drawings. In 2020, the company implemented the Assets system, becoming the only company in Egypt to do so.
On the sidelines of the REDCON Technology Day celebration, Mr. Amal Abdel Wahed, Vice Chairman and CEO of REDCON Construction, confirmed that the company continues to expand and implement major projects for both government agencies and private sector companies, maintaining their trust for over 30 years. He added that the company aims to execute projects with a business volume of EGP 30 bn during the current year.
Among the projects to be implemented is the Solare Ras El Hekma project for Misr Italia Properties. The company will inspect the project site and begin basic work soon. Additionally, REDCON has contracted with Ora Developers Egypt to carry out work on its project in West Cairo, with more projects under consideration to be announced shortly.
Abdel Wahed emphasized the importance of technology in the contracting sector for its role in achieving quality and sustainability. He pointed out that the BIM system reduces paper usage and working hours, while contributing to better integration among internal sectors.
For his part, Eng. Ayman Abdel Shafy, CEO of Resource Management at REDCON Construction, stated that REDCON is currently working on designing an AI program specific to the company, similar to the ChatGPT program, which will carry all the company’s information. The team is in the process of collecting information and data to upload to the program.
