Redcon, Honeywell Sign MoU for Sustainable Golden Gate

Redcon Properties, the newly established arm of Redcon Group, signs a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Honeywell to incorporate smart sustainability solutions at Golden Gate, Invest-Gate reports.

The MoU provides a collaboration between the companies and facilitates the way for Honeywell to provide smart city, community, and sustainability solutions in Golden Gate.

This makes Redcon Properties the first mixed-use development, which will become Egypt’s benchmark for smart communities.

For his part, Ahmed Abdallah, Vice Chairman of Redcon, says: “Golden Gate is a critical project as it will set a benchmark of more sustainable communities.”

“We want to collaborate with the best technology providers for smarter solutions incorporated into the project,” Abdallah adds.

Ahmed Saleh, business director of Honeywell Building Technologies, North Africa, comments: “Honeywell is proud to collaborate with Redcon Properties to help set the standard for smarter and more sustainable communities in Egypt.”

“We look forward to working with REDCON Properties on making the Golden Gate project a reality and creating an example for future communities in the region,” Saleh states.

It is noteworthy that Golden Gate covers an area of 160,000 sqm in New Cairo, including five districts comprised of mixed-use buildings, standalone offices, retail, and a luxury shopping zone.

The community will take a sustainability-first approach in its design and construction, including the materials used for buildings and walkways.

This will happen by incorporating renewable energy, water, energy efficiency solutions, electric vehicles, and other features to reduce its overall carbon footprint.
