The Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities Mostafa Madbouly has extended the reservation period for non-financially-supported social housing units across 19 governorates for an additional of 15 days, according to a released statement.

Up until January 29, single citizens with a monthly income of EGP 4,000 and married citizens of a monthly income of EGP 5,000 are given a 15-day extension to declare their desired 90 sqm residential units, Madbouly added. The non-financed three-bedroom residential units cost EGP 180,000 and are spread across 19 governorates, including Alexandria, Qaliubya, Sharqiya, Monuefiya, Beheira, Giza, Fayoum, Beni Suef, Minya, Assiut, Sohag, Qena, Luxor, Aswan, Red Sea, New Valley, Matrouh, and South Sinai.

Applicants are asked to pay a refundable downpayment of EGP 15,000 in addition to EGP 150 non-refundable administrative fees. They are then obliged to provide EGP 1000 as a minimum monthly installment, according to Deputy for the Social Housing Fund Salah Hassan.
