Housing Minister Reviews Progress on Launching Real Estate Market Regulation and Property Export Units

Eng. Sherif El Sherbini, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, held a meeting to review progress on establishing two key units within the New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA): The Real Estate Market Regulation Unit and the Property Export Unit, Invest-Gate reports.

El Sherbini emphasized that the purpose of the meeting was to present the strategic vision for both units and ensure they are structured to serve their intended goals. He stressed the importance of private-sector involvement, noting that developers will be consulted and represented in both units to enrich decision-making with industry insight.

During the meeting, the minister outlined the proposed framework for the Real Estate Market Regulation Unit, which would oversee market stakeholders including developers, real estate agents, and marketers. The unit’s responsibilities include licensing, oversight, a centralized real estate platform (“Egypt Property Platform”), a professional classification system, training and certification programs, and a complaint-handling mechanism.

The Property Export Unit will focus on marketing Egyptian real estate in regional and international markets, organizing and participating in global real estate exhibitions, and responding to inquiries from foreign investors.

Concluding the session, El Sherbini affirmed that the initiative aims to establish a comprehensive database for the real estate sector, streamline regulations, and enhance Egypt’s global property offering. He instructed all stakeholders to collaborate on a unified vision, including clear strategies and implementation mechanisms, to ensure the success of both units.
