The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and the American University in Cairo (AUC) have forged a partnership through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), paving the way for joint efforts in education, research, and professional development within the real estate and construction field, Invest-Gate reports.
The MoU was unveiled at an exclusive event titled “Navigating Financial Challenges in the Construction Industry,” hosted by the AUC School of Business Executive Education. Distinguished industry experts and thought leaders attended the event to delve into the latest trends and strategies to overcome the financial obstacles facing Egypt’s construction sector.
Ahmed Ashraf Anwar, Chair of the RICS Egypt Board and a construction/quantity surveying (QS) expert expressed his excitement about collaborating with the AUC and its opportunities for institutions and their stakeholders.
“This MoU represents a significant milestone for RICS in Egypt, as it signifies our inaugural formal agreement with a prestigious institution like AUC. We are confident that this partnership will bolster our presence and influence in the Egyptian market, providing greater prospects for learning and development for our members and affiliates,” stated Anwar.
Moreover, Phil Whittam, Partner in Business Development at RICS, commented, “We are thrilled to have signed this MoU with the AUC, one of the leading academic institutions in the region. This collaboration will enable us to extend our globally recognized qualifications and standards to a broader audience of professionals and students in Egypt and beyond.”
It is worth noting that prominent niche companies from the consultancy and construction sectors generously sponsored the event. It formed part of a series of networking events organized by RICS in Egypt to reconnect and foster collaboration with the local RICS community.
