Rock Developments Signs Cooperation Protocol with Helshon College in Sweden to Implement the ACC Educational Program in Egypt

Rock Developments announced the signing of a cooperation protocol with Sweden’s Helshon College Academy to launch the ACC educational and training program in Egypt, aimed at preparing young Egyptians with limited access to opportunities both personally and professionally. The initiative reflects the company’s commitment to social development and empowering youth to become active and impactful members of society, Invest-Gate reports.

The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by Eng. Parthena Doss, Board Member at Rock Developments, and Peter Landgren, Educational Director of Helshon College Academy in Egypt, in the presence of Katja Beksir, a key coordinator of the ACC program, along with representatives from both sides.

Eng. Parthena Doss affirmed Rock Developments’ belief in the role of education as a driver of social and economic transformation. She said the company is committed to empowering young people through the ACC program, which spans six months to three years and combines theoretical learning with practical applications to build balanced and capable individuals.

She emphasized that the program — inspired by the Scandinavian folk high school educational model— aligns with Rock’s strategy to support community initiatives and provide youth with the tools and opportunities needed to make a real impact. Doss added that Rock’s support has enhanced the program’s capabilities and expanded its reach, particularly among youth who lack access to similar education and training opportunities.

Mr. Peter Landgren highlighted that the ACC program is built on a “learning through application” methodology, helping students acquire practical skills, critical thinking, and analytical abilities. It includes core subjects such as Arabic, English, Mathematics, History, Geography, Science, and Vocational Education, integrated into real-life projects to link learning with daily life. He noted the program’s focus on self-development, confidence building, and social responsibility, and emphasized that maintaining small class sizes — up to 16 students — promotes participation and collaborative learning.

Landgren credited Rock Developments for its essential contribution, especially as the program targets financially disadvantaged students.

Katja Beksir noted that the ACC program stands out through its human-centered approach, giving students space for self-expression and incorporating life experiences into learning. She shared stories of student transformation, saying: “Many of them were shy at the beginning, but after a short time, they gained the confidence to stand and speak in front of an audience — that’s the core impact of real education.” She added that the immersive environment, including agricultural activities and interaction with animals, breaks psychological barriers and broadens perspectives.

Rock Developments is the real estate arm of El Batal Group for Investment, overseeing projects across Egypt and Canada under the “Rock” brand, including developments in New Heliopolis, Sheraton, 6th of October, New  Capital, Fifth Settlement, and Obour.
