Rock Developments Welcomes Renowned Canadian Architect Hazel Wong to Rock Capital 1 at New Capital Ahead of Its Handover

Rock Developments has welcomed celebrated Canadian architect Hazel Wong, Executive Director of WSW Architects and designer of Rock Capital 1, during her visit to the landmark project in the Government District of Egypt’s New Capital, Invest-Gate reports.

The visit marks the final stages before the handover of what is set to become the largest administrative building in the district.

Wong toured the site accompanied by senior company officials as final preparations continue for delivering the project to clients. Her visit underscores the architectural significance of Rock Capital 1 and the company’s commitment to global design standards.

Eng. Emad Doss, CEO of Rock Developments, described Wong’s visit as a key milestone. “Our collaboration with Hazel Wong merges Canadian expertise with her vast experience in Dubai to deliver a world-class, innovative architectural vision,” he said. “Rock Capital 1 reflects our commitment to creating business environments that drive investment and support productivity through design and technology.”

Doss emphasized the project’s strategic location and scale, calling it the number one administrative development in the Government District. Overlooking the Presidential Palace, the project covers 1 mn square feet with an investment of EGP 3 bn. It boasts a 200-meter frontage on Presidential Road and is located within minutes of the Central Bank of Egypt, the monorail station, government ministries, and the New Capital Airport.

Designed to attract international investment, Rock Capital 1 integrates smart infrastructure and premium amenities including restaurants, cafés, a centralized ATM hub, medical services, and floor-specific meeting rooms, all within a sound-insulated environment designed to enhance focus and productivity.

The project also features contributions from globally recognized firms such as Ted Jacobs Engineering Group, Cracknell, and Engineering Consultants Group, alongside Wong’s signature architectural style—also seen in her design of the iconic Jumeirah Towers in Dubai.

Wong expressed pride in the execution of her vision, praising the project’s progress. “Seeing Rock Capital 1 come to life exactly as envisioned is deeply rewarding,” she said. “This building is not just about workspaces; it merges work, life, and leisure in one dynamic setting.”

She highlighted the project’s distinctive façade and variety of office types, noting the inclusion of open terraces for outdoor dining and relaxation. “It’s designed to inspire—with flexible commercial spaces, services, and a design that supports modern work culture,” Wong added.

Rock Capital 1 now stands among the first fully operational administrative projects in the New Capital—poised to reshape Egypt’s business landscape.
