The Abu Dhabi-based Tourism Development & Investment Company (TDIC) has announced that preparatory enabling work on the Saadiyat Lagoons District is underway, reported Trade Arabia.
TDIC awarded the contract to Western Bainoona Group for General Contracting, which will handle ground improvements, site clearance.
CEO of TDIC, Sufian Hasan Al Marzooqi, stated that work is moving according to schedule, expecting to announce the main construction works contract before the end of this year.
Saadiyat Lagoons is one of the largest districts on the island that contains residential units, as the first phase of the project holds 820 townhouses built in a gated community.
The project’s townhouses will feature units of two to four bedrooms, all designed in a contemporary style. The project includes facilities and amenities for its residents that include community pools, children’s playgrounds, convenience stores, and a neighborhood lagoon, stated WAM.
The area also includes walking and cycling paths, horse-riding trails, and is expected to also include retail places, a town center which will overlook the central plaza, the central lagoon, a linear park, and a waterfront village.
