New Urban Communities Authority Communities’ (NUCA) Vice President Kamal Bahgat said 5,800 social housing units in Sadat City had reached an execution rate of 75%, Invest-Gate reports.

The announcement came during Bahgat’s follow up visit to Sadat City, where he was briefed that upgrading works of water and sewage networks, as well as, electricity grids are almost 95% complete on-site, according to a ministerial statement on January 7.

The aforesaid proceedings come in line with the state’s efforts to prep Sadat City for hosting Egypt’s New Cities Championship 2020, which will take place at the urban area’s 15-acre fully-equipped football court from January 25 to February 6, the authority uncovered in another statement on January 14.

Being chaired by NUCA, the tournament will see the participation of 31 new cities, the statement noted.
