Sandan Development, a Omani real estate developer, has signed an agreement with Towell Construction Company (TCC) for the construction of the first integrated light industries park in Oman, reported Trade Arabia.
The park will occupy over 250,000 square meters of land and will have 2,400 workshops, 450 office space units, 1400 homes, car showrooms, building material shops, mosques, hypermarkets, hospitals, restaurants, and banks, according to Muscat Daily.
The project is fully funded by Omani investors and upon its completion is expected to accommodate 15,000 people.
About 90% of ground leveling work has been completed so far.
The first phase of construction will commence one month after the announcement, and project completion date is after two years, according to Said Al Rashdi, Sandan’s Executive Manager, reported Times of Oman.
“Sandan received 14 offers from domestic and international construction companies after officially inaugurating the project at a big function. We studied the offers carefully and decided to award the construction of the park to TCC, which is one of the most important companies operating in the country,” Al Rashdi was quoted as saying reported Muscat Daily.
The new park is strategically located at Halban in the middle of Muscat Expressway and Al Batinahh Expressway. It is 5 kilometers away from Al Muabailah exit on the Expressway.
