Saudi Arabia is collaborating with a Chinese company to study a proposal that aims at implementing 3D printing techniques in the construction of housing units, Trade News Wire reported.
The Chinese company WinSun discussed the possible construction using this technique, noting that if it succeeds it will be reported as one of the largest 3D printing attempts in the world. Saudi Arabia plans to develop 1.5 million housing units over the next five years.
Saudi officials stated that WinSun’s technology perfectly matches the country’s national policy to expand in the number of houses, and the Ministry of Housing suggested the use of such technology in the upcoming developments of units, according to Trade Arabia.
WinSun has previously built 10 3D printed houses in less than 24 hours.
