Saudi Arabia is to develop a new smart industrial city in Asfan, north of Jeddah, reported the Saudi Gazette.
The development’s first phase is now ready for experimental operations, according to Abdullah Al-Sahli, Chairman of Alsabiqun Company, the developer of the project.
Set on an area of 5 million square feet, the city is primarily designed to host the workshops from Jeddah and provide a space for commercial projects. So far the project’s infrastructure covers an area of 160,000 square meters, providing water and electricity.
