Sawiris Foundation and Essam & May Allam Foundation Announce Strategic Partnership to Tackle Multi-Dimensional Poverty in Egypt

The Sawiris Foundation for Social Development and the Essam & May Allam Foundation for Sustainable Development have announced a new strategic partnership under the theme “A Partnership for Change… Evidence-Based, Impact-Driven. Invest-Gate reports.

The collaboration aims to maximize the societal impact of development initiatives across Egypt, with a shared vision of providing practical, sustainable solutions to the country’s most pressing socio-economic challenges.

This partnership will pool resources and expertise to drive tangible progress in combating poverty, advancing education, supporting agricultural development, and promoting arts and culture. The initiative aligns with Egypt’s Vision 2030 by strengthening economic and social empowerment, while expanding the scope and scale of development programs nationwide.

For the Sawiris Foundation, established in 2001 as one of Egypt’s first national grant-making organizations, the collaboration builds on a 25-year legacy of addressing multi-dimensional poverty, empowering change agents, and enhancing community resilience in the face of crises. By integrating scientific evidence with innovative interventions, the Foundation has already improved the lives of hundreds of thousands of Egyptians, and this partnership further underscores its mission to achieve sustainable and inclusive development.

Meanwhile, the Essam & May Allam Foundation—founded in 2025 to honor the legacy of Essam Hassan Allam and his daughter May—will expand its efforts to break the cycle of poverty through evidence-based educational and agricultural initiatives. Key programs include the Essam Allam Agricultural Center, which supports climate adaptation and food security, and the May Allam Knowledge Center, dedicated to improving education quality, advancing the Arabic language, and preserving arts and culture.

The official announcement and signing ceremony of this strategic partnership will take place next month, marking a pivotal step toward uniting civil society organizations in creating lasting social impact and delivering long-term development outcomes for Egypt.
