Sawiris Rebrands Property Firm with Plans for USD 2 bn Projects

Egyptian tycoon Naguib Sawiris’ Ora Developers, formerly Gemini Global Development, has announced its official rebrand and launch, aiming to “construct USD 2 bn worth of properties across the Middle East in the next three to five years,” UAE-based The National news website reports.

“The developments will be based on our lifestyle destinations model and have the same standards of design and construction as our current projects,” Haitham Mohamed, chief operating officer and board member at Ora Developers, told The National during the Cityscape Global exhibition in Dubai on October 2.

Sawiris, as chairman and CEO of Ora Developers, plans to re-position the company as a creator of top-notch lifestyle destinations. “We want our new brand to be seen as a stamp of excellence for our existing and future developments,” he told The National.

Launched in 2016, Gemini Global Development owns a USD 2.5 bn global real estate portfolio comprising the Silver Sands mixed-use project in Grenada, Ayia Napa Marina in Cyrus, and the Eighteen luxury residential project in Islamabad, Pakistan.

In addition to a total of 2,500 homes, three hotels, retail facilities, and a marina that the portfolio includes, “the company has several schemes in the pipeline in Egypt,” according to the news website.
