Schneider Electric, a global leader in energy management and automation, marked the 100th anniversary of its TeSys contactors with a special ceremony attended by customers, partners, and media, Invest-Gate reports.
TeSys contactors, first introduced in 1924, have been pivotal in regulating high currents across various sectors, including motors, HVAC systems, transportation, and infrastructure.
Originally launched as the world’s first contactor, TeSys has evolved significantly, incorporating energy-efficient and IoT-connected features like the TeSys Island.
Moreover, Schneider Electric recently introduced the upgraded EasyTeSys Contactor in Egypt, which is designed for various local applications.
For his part, Sebastien Riez, CEO of Schneider Electric Northeast Africa and Levant, highlighted the company’s century-long innovation journey, stating, “We are thrilled to celebrate 100 years of TeSys contactors, which have revolutionized energy management. As we enter the next century, our mission remains focused on sustainability and industrial progress.”
Also, Ramy Moustafa, Vice President of Buildings and Transactional Business, explained, “TeSys contactors have transitioned from electromechanical modules to IoT-connected systems, setting new industry standards in protection, monitoring, and control.”
Schneider Electric’s TeSys contactors are integrated into over 100 strategic projects across Egypt, including the New Administrative Capital, Benban Solar Plant, Gabal Al Zeit Wind Farm, and various water desalination plants.
Notably, with innovations like TeSys Island, Schneider Electric is poised to continue advancing energy efficiency and decarbonization in the years to come.
