Schneider Electric, a global energy management and automation leader, has announced its Q3 2024 financial results and updates on its Schneider Sustainability Impact (SSI) program, Invest-Gate reports.
The company, recently named the World’s Most Sustainable Company by TIME and Statista, continues to drive progress on its Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) targets set for 2025.
The SSI score for the quarter reached 7.29 out of 10, keeping Schneider on track to meet its 2024 target of 7.40. The company celebrated two major milestones in its sustainability efforts:
- Expanding Access to Green Energy: Schneider achieved its goal of providing reliable green energy to 50 million people over a year ahead of its 2025 target. This was accomplished through solar power installations across public facilities in Africa and India. Notably, hybrid solar solutions were added to health clinics serving 2 million people in Kenya, Nigeria, and India, and over 700 schools in India were powered by clean energy, benefiting 120,000 students. The company aims to extend green energy access to 100 million people by 2030.
- Upskilling for the Energy Transition: Schneider has now trained over 763,000 people in energy management. A recent collaboration with Enactus empowered university students from ten countries to create entrepreneurial solutions addressing energy transition challenges.
“Our achievements highlight the global scale of our impact,” said Xavier Denoly, Senior Vice-President of Sustainable Development. “While we’ve made significant progress, our commitment to decarbonization and sustainability remains unwavering.”
Schneider’s results underscore its leadership in sustainability and innovation, benefiting both people and the planet.
