Schneider Electric has contracted with the Suez Canal Authority to undertake maintenance work for the electricity and automatic control systems in the authority’s tunnels, specifically the Ismailia, Port Said, and Ahmed Hamdy tunnels, Invest-Gate reports.
This contract includes preventive, periodic, and emergency maintenance, as well as proactive maintenance and the implementation of proactive diagnostic techniques. Additionally, Schneider Electric will provide maintenance services for low-voltage and medium-voltage transformers, as well as SCADA systems for data collection, monitoring, and control.
The signing of the contracts took place in the presence of Sebastian Reyes, President of Schneider Electric for Northeast Africa and the Levant, Saif Eldemerdash, Vice President of the Engineering Services Sector at Schneider Electric for Northeast Africa and the Levant, Hassan Ahmed El-Feki, Director of the Tunnels and Bridges Department, and Mahmoud Amin, Head of the Technical Office of the Tunnels and Bridges Administration, along with representatives from the Suez Canal Authority.
In this regard, Reyes stated, “We are proud to collaborate with the Suez Canal Authority and continue our partnership with the Egyptian government in various crucial projects,” adding that “This includes the development and digitization of automatic control centers for the Ministry of Electricity, as well as the command center project in the New Administrative Capital (NAC) in cooperation with the Ministry of Petroleum.”
Reyes highlighted that “These initiatives affirm Schneider Electric’s capabilities in providing comprehensive maintenance and operation services for vital infrastructure in Egypt. We are committed to ensuring the highest levels of efficiency and safety in operating the tunnels.”
