Schneider Electric, the leader in digital transformation of energy management and automation, has announced today its 2023 sustainability impact performance as part of its full-year financial results, Invest-Gate reports.
Schneider Sustainability Impact score for the year exceeded expectations, reaching 6.13 out of 10, surpassing the year-end target of 6 out of 10. Additionally, Schneider Electric received recognition as a top performer by independent environmental, social, and governance (ESG) ratings throughout the year.
Schneider Electric’s strong performance is particularly noteworthy given that it occurred during the hottest year on record, underscoring the importance of collective action to decarbonize business operations and value chains. Such efforts are crucial to mitigate the severe impacts of global warming and expedite the transition to a cleaner and more equitable world.
Three years into Schneider Sustainability Impact (SSI) program, Schneider Electric’s electrification, digitalization, and automation solutions continue to contribute to the reduction of customers’ carbon emissions.
In 2023 alone, these solutions saved and avoided 112 million tons of emissions. Significant progress has also been made in transforming Schneider Electric’s supply chain, with a 27% reduction in carbon emissions from the company’s top 1,000 suppliers, compared to a 10% reduction achieved in 2022.
Furthermore, 21% of the company’s most strategic supply chain partners have met Schneider Electric’s decent work standards.
Schneider Electric’s responsible resource management efforts have resulted in 63% of its product packaging being free of single-use plastic and made of recycled cardboard.
The company’s commitment to closing the energy access gap has also made substantial strides, benefiting 46.5 million people who now have access to clean and reliable electricity through Schneider Electric initiatives worldwide.
