Schneider Electric Tops Time’s List of World’s Most Sustainable Companies for 2024

Schneider Electric, a global leader in the digital transformation of energy management and automation, has been bestowed with the prestigious title of the ‘World’s Most Sustainable Company for 2024’ by Time magazine and Statista, a recognition that reverberates across the sustainability landscape, Invest-Gate reports.

This accolade highlights the company’s efforts to reduce emissions and help clients achieve energy efficiency.

The ranking process, developed by Time and Statista, involved assessing over 5,000 global companies. Their methodology included a four-stage evaluation considering sustainability ratings, corporate reporting, and environmental and social performance indicators. The final list comprised 500 companies from over 30 countries, excluding those in unsustainable industries.

Key to Schneider Electric’s recognition is its Schneider Sustainability Impact (SSI) program. This initiative measures progress towards sustainability goals set for 2021-2025 across environmental, social, and governance (ESG) dimensions.

Since 2018, Schneider Electric has helped customers save and avoid 553 million tonnes of CO2. The company also reported a 27% reduction in emissions from its top 1,000 suppliers and ensured that 21% of its key supply chain partners adhere to decent work standards.

“We’re incredibly honored to be recognized as the world’s most sustainable company,” said Peter Herweck, CEO of Schneider Electric. “This achievement is a testament to our unwavering commitment to sustainability, which is embedded in everything we do. We consider the environment, society, and good governance in all our decisions and daily operations.”

Additionally, Schneider Electric was included in the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index for the 13th consecutive year, ranking #1 in its industry and securing a place in the Europe index. This reflects its robust ESG performance and sustainability-focused strategy.
