Work on the extension of Sharjah’s Al Majaz Waterfront in the emirate will be completed by the end of the year, according to the Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq), UAE state news agency WAM reported on Monday.
The AED 35 mn expansion, which is being carried out by Shurooq, is currently 90% complete and will add another 53,000 square feet to the project, making up 284,000 square feet overall. It will include a range of restaurants and cafes as well as other amenities.
Al Majaz Waterfront was opened in 2012 and has since developed into a tourist destination, making the expansion necessary, according to Shurooq officials quoted by Trade Arabia.
