Six Faculties Now Operational in New Aswan

The Ministry of Housing, Utlities, and Urban Communities revealed that six faculties are now fully operational in the 98-acre Aswan University in New Aswan, Invest-Gate reports.

This was announced on the sidelines of a visit paid by some of the ministry’s senior officials to check on the latest developments in the new city, following the delivery of 1,506 social housing units.

Concluding their inspection tour in New Aswan, officials led by Deputy Minister of Housing for National Projects Khaled Abbas New Urban Communities Authority’s (NUCA) Vice Chairman Abdel Mottaleb Mamdouh followed up on the recent construction and implementation updates at Aswan University and Nile International college, among other new projects spreading across the city’s tourist strip, according to an official statement on September 28.

A total of 66 fully-furnished villas are being developed across 1,050 acres, alongside a commercial and recreational complex, a hotel, and a beach park, the ministry revealed.

During the visit, officials gave clear directives to finalize the construction works of the tourist promenade as well as the residential villas as soon as possible, the statement read.

On his part, Head of New Aswan City Authority Ahmed Rashad said implementation works on the second phase of water facilities and the power grid network are now underway, with investments of EGP 168 mn and EGP 270 mn, respectively. These facilities are scheduled to be finalized by June 2020, along with a connected road network that extends over around 73.76 kilometers.
