Six Flags Qiddiya Promises Tallest-Ever Roller Coaster, Drop Tower

Designs for Saudi Arabia’s mega US-operated amusement park, dubbed “Six Flags Qiddiya” and located in Riyadh, has been unveiled and is poised to be “the most unique Six Flags theme park ever built,” boasting the world’s longest, tallest, and fastest roller coaster and tallest-ever drop-tower ride, Invest-Gate reports.

Set to be “the theme park that breaks all records for family fun and entertainment in the kingdom,” the new 79-acre development will include 28 rides and attractions across six themed lands: The City of Thrills, Discovery Springs, Steam Town, Twilight Gardens, Valley of Fortune, and Grand Exposition, according to a press release on August 26.

“Our vision is to make Six Flags Qiddiya a theme park that delivers all the thrills and excitement that audiences from all over the world have come to expect from the Six Flags brand, and to elevate those experiences with authentic themes connected to the location,” said Michael Reininger, CEO of Qiddiya Investment Company (QIC), which is Qiddiya’s master developer.

Outlined as KSA’s capital of entertainment, sports, and arts, while coming in line with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, Qiddiya comprises an array of real estate options, together with services and amenities, having access to over 300 recreational and educational facilities, in a bid to tailor a 24-hour destination resort and a self-contained community. Besides Six Flags, it will include a 20,000-seat cliff-top stadium, an 18,000-seat multi-purpose indoor arena, among others.
