Sixth of October Development and Investment (SODIC) has awarded more than EGP 1.2 bn worth of construction tenders to develop its SODIC East project over the last two years, Invest-Gate reports.

“All launched parcels are well underway with construction on schedule for delivery to start in 2021 … Over 65% of the 776 under-construction single-family homes have complete concrete skeletons, and exterior finishes have begun in the earlier phases,” SODIC’s Managing Director Magued Sherif uncovered in a press release on July 21.

“Infrastructure work is underway, starting with the project’s main roads as well as the foundations for water, sewage, and electric connections,” Sherif was quoted as saying.

Developed over 655 acres, the mixed-use compound is the developer’s largest flagship project in east Cairo, with more than 84% open greeneries. Master-planned by renowned Massachusetts-based Sasaki, the gated community comprises multiple educational, commercial, and entertainment facilities.

“SODIC East boasts a six-acre park destined to be the first camping site of its size in Egypt, adjacent to a 41-acre sports club to be managed by Club S, SODIC’s own dedicated sports platform,” read the statement.

Sherif added, “At its early development stages, SODIC East is a great opportunity for early adopters and a perfect alternative for New Cairo, which the younger generation of quality lifestyle seekers have been priced out from.”

Coming in partnership with Heliopolis Company for Housing and Development (HHD), SODIC East is a mere ten-minute drive from New Cairo and the New Administrative Capital (NAC) via the newly-developed and upgraded road networks.
