SODIC celebrates the official opening of Tawasol’s new community school in Istabl Antar, Invest-Gate reports.
This is the second school for Tawasol in the neighborhood, as the first was in 2008 to re-enroll children, dedicated to eduction system drop-offs, according to a company press release.
The school spans over 1,050 m2 with a capacity to host over 500 students, finished and equipped at international school standards. The new school will provide a larger group of students with the same multi-disciplinary experience in a much healthier and well-equipped environment. Noteworthy, Tawasol’s first school applies the certified ministerial education along with vocational training and an expanded performing arts program. Moreover, facilities of both schools include a science lab, a theater, a library, a gym, a food court, medical clinics, and an auditorium.
The new school will also act as a community hub, offering health services that include free weekly checkups and funding programs for students and neighboring community members. “We have been working with Tawasol for over ten years… we have watched the community school grow; we were there in every step in this long journey to this day. This school is a dream come true for SODIC as well,” Magued Sherif, SODIC’s Managing Director was quoted as saying.
“Education is one of our strongest corporate citizenship platforms. We are very proud of Tawasol and are privileged to have played a small part in this big victory for the community of Ezbet Khairallah,” he adds.
The opening was attended by Hala El Saeed, Minister of Planning and Economic Development, Khaled Abdel Aal, Cairo Governor, and Mohamed Abou Youssef, Tawasol NGO Co-founder.
