SODIC, Delta Oil Partner for the Creation of a Sustainable Biodiesel Ecosystem in Egypt

Sixth of October Development and Investment Company (SODIC) has announced a partnership with Delta Oil, a startup specializing in waste oil management, to establish an ecosystem that supports the biodiesel industry, Invest-Gate reports.

Delta Oil collects used cooking oil and converts it into biodiesel, promoting resource utilization and minimizing environmental impact.

Over the past five years, Delta Oil has supplied over 720,000 kg of waste to biodiesel firms, resulting in a significant reduction in carbon emissions. Additionally, the company employs over 650 oil collectors from vulnerable communities across various governorates.

Ayman Amer, General Manager of SODIC, expressed excitement about the collaboration with Delta Oil, as their strategy aligns perfectly with SODIC’s commitment to minimizing waste, reducing their carbon footprint, and extracting maximum value from oil resources. This partnership is part of SODIC’s dedication to cultivating a circular economy.

SODIC has been a leader in sustainability since 2014 when it became a signatory of the United Nations Global Compact. As the first developer in Egypt to publish a GRI-assured Sustainability Report and measure its carbon footprint, SODIC has demonstrated its commitment to transparency and environmental responsibility.
