The petroleum ministry has confirmed the delivery of natural gas to about 1.07 mn housing units in FY 2019/20, which 107% higher than the original target, Invest-Gate reports.

Residences linked to the local natural gas grid amounted to 11.1 mn by the end of FY 2019/20, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek El Molla underlined in an official statement on July 5.

Throughout the fiscal year, the Earth’s cleanest fuel became indoor at 66 new provinces, the minister continued, underscoring that 3.4 mn homes are planned to get access to natural gas between FY 2018/19 to FY 2020/21.

El Molla pointed to the ministry’s efforts to carry out an overall government plan envisaging the supply of natural gas to all houses across the country, aiming to lift some of the financial burdens on citizens.
