In a televised statement at the end of his visit to Port Said Governorate, Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, the Prime Minister, expressed his happiness at being present in the governorate on its national day, Invest-Gate reports.
Dr. Mostafa Madbouly was accompanied by a team of dignitaries, including Lieutenant General Eng. Kamel Al-Wazir, the Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport, Dr. Manal Awad, the Minister of Local Development, Eng. Sherif El Sherbini, the Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, and Mr. Mohamed Abdel Latif, the Minister of Education and Technical Education. He also expressed gratitude to the members of both the House of Representatives and the Senate for accompanying him throughout the inspection tour.
The Prime Minister noted that the tour encompassed several major projects in which the state has contributed and continues to contribute. He pointed out that the day began with an extended session with members of the House of Representatives and the Senate, during which he and the ministers listened to the representatives’ requests and concerns regarding this beautiful governorate, which holds a special place in the hearts of all Egyptians. They reached consensus on several important steps regarding various issues affecting the citizens of Port Said, particularly concerning housing, industry, and essential services such as healthcare and education, as well as infrastructure, especially the roads linking the governorate to other parts of the country.
During the visit, Dr. Mostafa Madbouly underscored that they inspected several factories, particularly small and medium-sized ones. He expressed his satisfaction with visiting these factories that have started operations in recent months, creating numerous job opportunities for the youth of Port Said and exporting products to different countries worldwide while also supplying the local market. He has personally followed the progress of these factories for the past year and a half and was delighted to see them operational.
In this context, the Prime Minister mentioned that there was an agreement with the Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development, based on requests from the governorate’s representatives, to expedite the implementation of a new phase of these factories and the development of the remaining industrial area of about 360 acres. The goal is to transform Port Said into a first-class industrial city. He highlighted that 54% of Egypt’s ready-made clothing exports come from Port Said.
Additionally, the Prime Minister referred to his visit to a range of social housing projects under the presidential initiative “Housing for All Egyptians.” He noted that in response to requests from several members of the House of Representatives and the Senate regarding this sector, they agreed to expedite the establishment of a new group of “Housing for All Egyptians” projects adjacent to the Emirati neighborhood.
Regarding the development and upgrading of the June 30 Axis, the Prime Minister pointed out that a budget of 10 billion Egyptian pounds will be allocated for the development and enhancement of this axis and its various branches.
The Prime Minister expressed his happiness while inspecting the completed second phase of the tourist promenade in Port Said. He noted that work will be intensified to complete the third phase of the promenade in the upcoming period.
The Prime Minister extended his best wishes to the citizens of the brave Port Said Governorate, as well as to all citizens across the country. He invoked the Almighty to bless the country with continued stability, security, safety, and peace. He highlighted the persistent directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi regarding the necessity of continuing construction, development, and improvement efforts, which the government is implementing across the governorates of the republic.
