The Big 5 Construct Egypt runs from June 25th to 27th at the Egypt International Exhibition Center (EIEC), under the patronage of Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, Invest-Gate reports.
The exhibition is organized by DMG Events, gathering leaders and importers, in order to build a growing market for construction projects in Egypt.
The three-day event is inaugurated by Major General Hesham El Swefy, Chief of staff of the Engineering Authority of the Armed Forces, and Khaled Abbas, Deputy Minister of Housing, Utilities & Urban Communities.
This is the first participation of the Engineering Authority of the Egyptian Armed Forces, besides companies from more than 20 countries.
However, three countries are participating with pavilions for the first time, namely, Poland, Qatar, and Spain.
2022’s edition sees a 30% growth in international participation compared to 2021, as the exhibition includes pavilions for Germany, Greece, Italy, Portugal, Turkey, and the UAE.
For its part, Invest-Gate shades light on the importance of The Big 5 Construct Egypt, which gathers the most prominent experts in the construction industry in the world. The exhibition aims to discuss the latest developments in many fields, including engineering, facilities management, sustainability, and using green energy resources to benefit the Egyptian construction industry.
Additionally, the Big 5 Construct Egypt provides the ideal business platform for attendees to know more about the market trends, innovation, and source of solutions, in addition to completing commercial deals driving the future growth of the construction sector.
In this regard, Khaled Abbas, Deputy Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities, states, “The participation of 20 countries and 250 companies in the exhibition reflects the expansion and development of the Egyptian market over the past six years, and reveals the urban development achieved in Egypt, as well as the volume of investments amounting to EGP 600 bn annually from the government and the private sector.”
Muhammed Kazi, vice president of construction at DMG Events, says, “I would like to thank all international and local exhibitors, our partners, and sponsors for their support and participation in the exhibition.” Kazi reveals that the company is set to launch the Egypt Infrastructure & Water Expo, to run at the same time as The Big 5 Construct Egypt in June 2023.
In the same vein, Abdel Rahman Gaweesh, CEO of Green Modeling Contracting (GMC), indicates that The Big 5 Construct Egypt is one of the company’s means to identify developments in the construction sector and new projects of companies operating in the industry.
Gaweesh explains that the exhibition is an opportunity to exchange experiences, information, and direct sales to companies. Further, there is a strong trend in Egypt’s construction sector to use green energy sources, as there are many buildings that currently depend on generating the majority of their energy needs on green energy sources, especially in the NAC as a smart and sustainable city.
Commenting on the importance of the exhibition, Atter Hannoura, director at PPP Central Unit Ministry of Finance, states, “The exhibition is an opportunity to meet all companies of various businesses and initiate discussions to enhance innovation, exchange information, and offer partnerships aim to implement more projects for both the government and the private sector in Egypt.”
On his part, Moustafa Kazamel, managing director of ASGC, explains, “The Egyptian construction market is expected to account for 30% of the MENA construction market by the end of this decade.”
The exhibition sees a great turnout of visitors interested in the construction sector, as it hosted free and accredited CPD discussions in many fields and over 20 sessions are offered in Engineering, Project Management, Facilities Management, and Sustainability.
Concluding the industry gathering this year, The Big 5 Egypt Impact Awards ceremony is held to recognize innovation and project excellence across Egypt’s construction industry. 22 award winners are announced, for instance, Best Community Project, Infrastructure Project, Best Construction Leader, Best Engineering Firm, and Best Sustainability Initiative of the Year.
