The Cabinet’s Media Center has published a set of infographics on its social media platforms, showcasing the potential of the New Administrative Capital (NAC) as an economic and administrative hub that embodies Egypt’s Vision 2030, Invest-Gate reports.
This initiative aims to transform the country into a modern and advanced state at all levels, keeping pace with global technological developments. This effort reflects the state’s ongoing achievements, marking a significant turning point in the journey of the new republic, particularly following the launch of major national projects that represent pivotal steps toward achieving sustainable development across various fields, contributing to a promising future for generations to come.
The infographics detail the vision for the NAC, designed as an integrated city with residential and commercial areas, offering a comprehensive range of educational, healthcare, and entertainment services.
It will house the main headquarters of ministries, the Cabinet, the Senate, and Parliament, as well as the offices of local and international banks, financial institutions, and the Central Bank of Egypt.
The Cabinet’s Media Center noted that the total area of the NAC, across its four phases, is 230,000 feddans. The city is expected to accommodate 8-9 mn citizens, including 2.5 mn in the first phase. Notably, there are 480 real estate developers currently working on developing neighborhoods and land.
Regarding the vision of international institutions, the infographics indicate that the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development has confirmed that Egypt is building the NAC to be the country’s first smart city, featuring advanced infrastructure aimed at reducing consumption and costs while focusing on renewable energy.
The Arab Urban Development Institute has stated that the NAC is intended to be Egypt’s future capital and a major regional administrative and financial center, designed to attract residents and investors through its economic, recreational, and administrative activities, making it a smart, technologically advanced, and sustainable city in line with the goals outlined in the “Egypt Vision 2030” strategy.
The infographics also discuss the main objectives of establishing the NAC, highlighting its aim to be a green city with a per capita share of 15 sqm of green and open spaces in accordance with international standards.
The city is planned to be sustainable, with 70% of its building roofs covered with solar panels and utilizing sustainability criteria for energy and waste recycling.
According to the infographics, the goals include making the NAC a connected city that integrates all transportation networks, a smart city that provides services electronically, and a pedestrian-friendly city, with 30% of the road network allocated to pedestrians and bicycles.
Furthermore, 30% of the city’s area will be designated for the business and financial sector, while 40% will be allocated for housing.
Moreover, the infographics highlighted the residential projects in the first phase, which are integral to the NAC’s goals as a city for living. This phase includes eight residential districts containing 600,000 residential units, as well as 40 mixed-use towers with approximately 500 hotel residential units.
