Upper Egypt Housing Projects Updated

Approximately 66,000 social housing units have been completed in Upper Egypt to be followed by other 40,000 to be finalized across several governorates in the near future, Invest-Gate reports.

The social housing units spread across governorates of Fayoum, Beni Sueif, Minya, Assiut, Sohag, Qena, Luxor, Aswan, New Tiba City, and Dar Misr project in New Minya City, stated Mostafa Madbouly, the Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, during the National Youth Conference held in Aswan.

Social housing project in Upper Egypt, according to Madbouly, include 240 land plots previously offered for special housing in New Minya City and New Sohag City, in addition to 2798 land plots offered across Beni Sueif, New Qena, New Tiba, and New Assiut.

In New Minya City, the ministry has provided additional 443 land plots for other housing projects; and further 2,900 plots in New Sohag as well. Other 1,779 “special” land plots spread across the cities of New Tiba, New Assiut, and  New Qena, New Fayoum, New Beni Sueif, New Minya, and New Akhmeem. Today, in Upper Egypt, “the ministry has delivered 99 rural sanitation and water treatment projects at a total investment cost of EGP 5.87 bn,” Madbouly added.
