Development works worth EGP 3 bn have began at West Port Said Harbour, MENA reports.
Suez Canal Authority Chairman Mohab Mamish announced in a meeting on February 5 that demand for investments at West Port Said Harbour is high and promising. He added that there are plans to build a number of container terminals at the port, which requires rehabilitating the port’s facilities and infrastructure.
Among the priorities is developing a the touristic harbour of Port Said, and the possibility of developing a train line connecting Cairo to Port Said.
A Port Fouad housing project for the workers at the Suez Canal Authority is currently under construction, sponsored by the Ministry of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities.
