West Qena to See 1,680 Housing Units Done by July 2020

West Qena is awaiting the finalization of 1,680 residential units, within 70 buildings, as part of Sakan Misr medium-income project by late June 2020, in the course of providing affordable housing to low-income citizens, Invest-Gate reports.

This comes as part of the state’s plans to build a total of 3,264 social housing units, spreading across 136 buildings, in West Qena, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities Assem El Gazzar revealed in a ministerial statement on October 6.

Besides, Head of New Qena Development Authority Radwan Abdel Rashid stated that the first phase of infrastructure works is ongoing on-site, confirming that EGP 1.1 bn have been so far pumped in water projects, together with EGP 272 mn allocated for the implementation of an electricity network to serve 430 acres of housing areas.

Positioned 5 kilometers away from Qena Governorate and located on the Western Desert Road, the first phase of West Qena is being developed over 1,400 acres, out of the total 8,971 acres allotted for the new city, the statement noted.
