WIRE Discusses Female Leadership in Egypt’s Real Estate Sector, Cityscape Talks

On the sidelines of the Cityscape 2023, a panel discussion titled “Resilient Women at the Forefront of the Egyptian Real Estate Landscape” was organized by Women in Real Estate (WIRE), Invest-Gate reports.

The panel discussion aimed to shed light on the role of women in promoting and developing the predominantly male-dominated Egyptian real estate sector.

Moderated by Mona Hussein, CEO and Founder of Mona Hussein Design Studio, the panel featured distinguished speakers, including Hoda Galal Yassa, President of Arab Women Investors Union (AWIU); Heba El Dessouky, Director of Hospitality Development at City Edge Developments; and Nervein Magdy, Managing Director of Property Finder Egypt.

Mona Hussein highlighted the increasing representation of women in the real estate sector. However, she acknowledged that men still hold most positions, posing challenges for women as property owners and investors. Hussein emphasized that empowering women is a key priority for Egypt, aligning with the National Strategy for Empowering Egyptian Women 2030 goals.

Moreover, Yassa emphasized the significant contribution of women to the development of the real estate field. She noted the presence of numerous senior businesswomen who are competing in the sector, particularly in Arab and African countries.

Furthermore, Nervein Magdy affirmed the integral role of women in development plans across various fields, particularly in real estate. She emphasized that women’s professional and personal attention to detail greatly influences the development of any sector they work in.

Notably, the second day of the twelfth edition of Cityscape Egypt began with active participation from major real estate companies, investors, developers, experts, and real estate enthusiasts. The exhibition, organized by Informa Markets under the patronage of the Ministry of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, also features Cityscape Talks, providing a platform for experts from the public and private sectors to discuss the sector’s most significant developments.
