Amar Mandour, Head of the Capital Gardens City Authority, welcomed an international delegation attending the 12th World Urban Forum for a tour showcasing Egypt’s ambitious housing initiatives, Invest-Gate reports.
The visit highlighted various housing projects under President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s administration, which aim to provide suitable accommodation for all income levels, especially low—and middle-income families, following directives from Housing Minister Sherif El Sherbini.
Moreover, the tour featured the “Housing for All Egyptians” initiative, launched in 2014, which delivers affordable housing options, including environmentally friendly units under the green architecture initiative. Delegates admired Egypt’s urban development model and a keen interest in exploring collaboration opportunities with Egyptian construction firms.
Mandour explained that the visit promotes knowledge exchange and housing cooperation among participating countries. He noted that 100,000 housing units aimed at low—and middle-income residents have already been delivered in Capital Gardens City, and an additional 100,000 units are currently in the sixth phase of development.
Also, Mandour outlined the goals of the green housing project, which is designed to reduce energy consumption by 27%, carbon emissions by 33%, water use by 40%, and solid waste by 70% through eco-friendly building materials and increased green spaces.
“These projects provide low-income families with affordable homes while reducing monthly utility costs and enhancing their quality of life,” Mandour emphasized, underscoring Egypt’s commitment to sustainable urban solutions.
