Youth Minister Attends Signing of Cooperation Protocol with MQR to Establish “Makani” Project, Providing Shared Workspaces in Youth Centers

Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, Minister of Youth and Sports, witnessed the signing of a cooperation protocol between the Ministry of Youth and Sports and MQR at the ministry’s headquarters in the New Administrative Capital, Invest-Gate reports.

The protocol aims to establish “Makani” project, which will provide shared workspaces in youth centers and youth development centers, contributing to a supportive environment for innovators and startup owners by empowering them with the tools to work, communicate, and learn.

The protocol was signed on behalf of the Ministry of Youth and Sports by Major General Ihab Bashir, Permanent Undersecretary of the Ministry, and on behalf of the company by Mr. Muhammad Nagi, CEO of MQR.

Dr. Ashraf Sobhy emphasized that this protocol aligns with the Ministry’s strategy to transform youth centers into comprehensive development hubs, enhancing their role in fostering talent, entrepreneurship, and innovation. It also supports the state’s drive to empower youth economically and socially.

He highlighted the importance of developing youth centers into vital platforms for entrepreneurship and innovation.

Sobhy noted the Ministry’s efforts to provide an integrated environment that helps young people develop their ideas and projects, offering them the tools and opportunities necessary to succeed in the job market through training, communication, and logistical services.

Sobhy stated that the partnership with MQR represents a successful model of integration between the public and private sectors to serve Egyptian youth and empower them economically and professionally.

He emphasized the Ministry’s prioritization of supporting entrepreneurship, noting that initiatives such as establishing coworking spaces will transform the services provided within youth centers.

Mr. Muhammad Nagi, said: “We are proud to contribute to this initiative, which aims to develop youth centers into co-working spaces that drive innovation and economic growth. Collaboration between the public and private sectors is vital to achieving sustainable development, and through it, we can support youth, stimulate the spirit of innovation, and build thriving community centers.
